  • Description:

    Our next hike will be the Cucumber Gap trail at Elkmont on March 27th at 10:00. Just take Little River Rd. to the Elkmont Campground and follow the signs before you enter the campground. Parking is along the road at the Little River trailhead.
    This is an easy 5 mi. loop beginning on the Little River trail and circling around to the Jakes Creek trail.
    There is one section of Cucumber Gap that crosses a branch--it's an easy rock hop--but in case you step in the water you may want to have a dry pair of shoes in the car!

    Me, too, Laura! Thanks for coming. The next hike is scheduled for Cades Cove, but since the loop road has been closed a lot in the past month, we may have to choose another location. I'll keep you posted!

    Be sure to check the road closures within the park--as of right now Little River Rd. is closed from Sugarlands to the Townsend "Y."
