About Outdoor Knoxville

Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center

OutdoorKnoxville.com is provided to you by Legacy Parks Foundation, a non-profit organization which works to assure that our community enjoys exceptional recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that those assets exist for generations to come. Our goal is to leave East Tennessee better than we found it.

Legacy Parks Foundation raises funds to preserve land, expand parks, create trails and greenways and create recreational opportunities for everyone.

Our current work is focused on making East Tennessee the best place to play outdoors. With the help of many collaborative groups, we are creating an Urban Wilderness in the heart of the city, complete with over thirty miles of the best hiking and biking trails in the southeast, ten city parks, miles of greenway and access to the Tennessee River. Through donations of land and money to Legacy Parks, we are helping create trails, parks, and river access spots not only in downtown Knoxville, but throughout the region. You can help, too! Do your part to leave East Tennessee better than you found it by becoming a Friend of Legacy Parks today.

Legacy Parks Foundation has recently opened the Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center. The Center will have maps, flyers and other outdoor resources available to help everyone get out and play. The Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center offers a lovely community room, theater and patio with a waterfall setting, that are available for a nominal fee for community and club events. Centrally located with easy access to the greenway and the Tennessee River, the Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center will make outdoor recreation more accessible to everyone. Bike and boat rentals are available on the main level where River Sports Outfitters has opened their newest storefront offering retail sales, programs and classes.
