Text
Winding along the Holston River, the Holston River Greenway connects fishing piers, a river overlook, playgrounds and large sports fields befjore circling back, connecting the two parking areas. At the southern edge of the loop, spurring off the paved trail, is the scenic natural surface Perimeter Trail. As it meanders through a beautiful oak and beech forest, the trail crosses an abandoned rail line. Residents from the surrounding neighborhoods can access this trail from spur connectors at the corners of both Riverside Drive and Holston Hills Road. There are many land-based recreational activities within the Holston River Park in addition to the blueway access to the Holston River.
