Surrounded by beautiful hardwood forests and miles of Norris Lake shoreline, Norris Dam State Park is a recreational heaven. Paddlers and anglers seek to explore the 700 miles of pristine shoreline while land adventurers wander through miles of scenic trail that weaves through the park's valleys and ridges. The state park also features a full line of sporting amenities, a swimming pool and family activities. Two camping areas are within the park and one primitive site is nestled deep in the woods. Trails are multi-use and connect with the Norris Watershed Trail System. The River Bluff Wild Area is adjacent to the park as well. Park rangers lead guided spring wildflower hikes. We'll keep you posted on our event calendar.

Fishing: Both Norris Lake and the impounded Clinch River offer abundant catches of brown and rainbow trout, striper bass, small and largemouth bass, walleye, and crappie.

Paddling: Views abound — from the sheer cliffs that rise above the lake to the surrounding lush valleys, this is a beautiful place to spend some time on the water. Along the shoreline there are over 50 miles of islands, numerous picnic areas, caves, cliffs, beaches with gradual sloping shorelines, offering plenty of places to explore!

Trails: There are three separate trail systems at the Park, on both sides of Norris Lake, that altogether, provide 20 miles of wonderful multi-use trails. Terrain varies from singletrack to wider doubletrack to old dirt/gravel roads. Ten miles of trail lie on the west side of the lake and the other 10 on the east side abutting and connecting to the Norris Watershed Trail System.
